Story

Originally written for a female voice. The song described how her lover kept dreaming at night and whispering the name of a mystery woman. The lyrics were reworked for a male voice because no female singer seemed interested.

Lyrics

Who was Sylvia, as the nights drift slowly by. In my dreams she's the apple of my eye. Each night my love for her starts to burn like a flame, and I know that she will come to me, when I call her name. Who was Sylvia, for she answered to my prayers. In my dreams I will cast away my cares. Each night my love for her starts to burn like a flame. For I know that I love Sylvia and I hear her call my name. But then the morning comes and she has gone again. I bless the day to drift on by. For dreams begin to fade and I must live again, until the evening calls and love come by.
